With the Re-norm Table, designed by Maria Bruun, Muuto challenges the idea of the traditional table, changing it from an object into a social tool. Instead of strict symmetry or hierarchical seating, its shape and varied edges propose a more fluid and spontaneous way of gathering. The sculptural vision is clear: the table has a soft and calm presence. The choice of materials reinforces that mindset. From form-pressed birch plywood to wood veneers and a bold blue finish, it demonstrates innovation without being obvious about it. The Re-norm Table doesn’t try to be the centre of attention. It simply reshapes the way people interact around it. And in doing so, it challenges the “norm” effectively while staying true to its practical nature.
