Muuto launches Earnest Extendable Table by John Tree – the result of one material, one place, one process. Designing a classic yet contemporary dining table is as interesting as it is intimidating. When British designer John Tree was asked to make one for Muuto, he considered what he could add to the equation. What would build a bridge between now and then, between design heritage and contemporary life? The answer was to completely surrender to one material: FSC™-certified solid oak.
“A table tends to be the heart of any space. The middle of the house, but also the family or a company of people. It is the epicenter, physically and emotionally. Today, we use the table for much more than meals. The functionality has become different, and it is interesting to see how well the table has responded to that,” says Tree.
Earnest Extendable Table is available in two finishes, Oak and Dark Oiled Oak, and two sizes, 205 x 100 cm and 260 x 100 cm. The Earnest Extendable Table will be available in stores from April 2024. Please note that the design will be available in North America in September 2024.
