One of the regular guides of Abdij Roosenberg and a connoisseur of architect Dom Hans van der Laan will provide insight into the architectural abbey where the conference takes place—one of Van der Laan’s masterpieces—as well as an introduction to the architect’s work. Dom Hans van der Laan (1904–1991) was a Dutch Benedictine monk, architect and architectural theorist, renowned for his exploration of universal proportions in architecture. He is considered one of the most influential thinkers in modern religious architecture.
