At Casa Zimbro, Stemmer Rodrigues brings architecture, nature and everyday life into a harmonious whole. On Brazil’s southern coast, the pavilion offers a considered take on contemporary coastal living.
This 800-square-metre residence in Xangri-Lá, designed by Stemmer Rodrigues, is a low-slung pavilion shaped around the landscape. At the heart of the home, a planted courtyard draws daylight, fresh air and greenery deep into the interior, while creating a balance between openness and privacy. The material palette reinforces this connection, with exposed concrete lending the architecture a sense of solidity, while wood and stone introduce warmth and depth. Broad horizontal planes keep the building grounded, allowing it to sit naturally within its coastal surroundings.
