Petite Friture, the charming French design brand, emerged onto the scene in 2010 and has gracefully matured over the past decade. Every released collection exudes innovation, bringing a breath of fresh air with its unique offerings.

In our design landscape where many brands seem to mirror each other, Petite Friture, under the visionary guidance of founder and creative force Amélie du Passage, stands out with its distinctive and delightful signature.

More than a label

The ‘Vertigo’ lamp marked the inaugural moment when Petite Friture left a memorable impression, captivating both the design market and the pages of every renowned magazine. This exquisite object became the catalyst for the brand’s soaring success. Right from the outset, Amélie du Passage has collaborated with designers who embrace audacity, both in their boldness and the freshness of their ideas. The emphasis often lies in the daring use of colour, exuding optimism, and consistently infused with a playful spirit. This is more than mere aesthetics; it embodies a mindset and an expression that invites people to look upward, fostering inclusivity and uniqueness.

Petite Friture derives its name from the French term for ‘small fried fish,’ cleverly playing with words to underscore the brand’s distinct identity. More than a mere moniker, Petite Friture evokes the joy of gathering around a table with friends on a warm summer evening.

This design label is a testament to passion, and despite the international challenge of pronouncing its name, it remarkably embeds itself effortlessly in the memory even making waves in the United States, where Petite Friture has already caused quite a sensation.

Driven by a singular mission, this design label is dedicated to transforming beauty into something meaningful and good.

Design fusion

Amélie du Passage is undeniably French but now calls London home, a city that played a significant role in her upbringing. Her fluency in English greatly facilitated the swift internationalisation of Petite Friture. Living in the dynamic atmosphere of London, she found innovative inspiration and a fresh perspective on design, leading to valuable insights that propelled the evolution of her brand.

The diverse and expansive collection that characterises Petite Friture can be aptly described as eclectic, a reflection of this unique blend of influences. Take the Frances table, for instance; it could seamlessly grace an Italian Palazzo or find its place in a modernist home.

Petite Friture’s commitment to collaboration extends to emerging designers, predominantly women from various corners of the globe, spanning from Australia to the United States. These designers work closely with founder Amélie du Passage in the creation of collections. This close partnership often results in modifications to designs and ideas, ensuring they align with the brand’s ethos, including considerations for affordability.

In providing a platform for emerging talents, Petite Friture not only nurtures creativity but also offers a distinctive opportunity for designers to showcase their skills. The brand stands as a testament to the fusion of different international perspectives, creating a harmonious and diverse design narrative.
