UniFor, a Molteni Group company, is proud to announce its participation as a technical partner in the production of the installation Listening All Night To The Rain at the British Pavilion for the 60th Venice Biennale Arte 2024.

Curated by Adriano Pedrosa under the theme Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere, the Biennale Arte will run from April 20 to November 24. Representing Great Britain is Anglo-Ghanaian artist and filmmaker John Akomfrah, whose installation continues his exploration of memory, migration, racial injustice and climate change. Listening All Night To The Rain reaffirms art’s ability to write history in unexpected ways through non-linear forms of narrative and collage. One installation, featuring eight overlapping and interconnected multi-screen works, encourages visitors to experience the neoclassical building of the British Pavilion in a unique way.

John Akomfrah: “Listening All Night To The Rain alludes to the performative power that the sonic will hold in the Pavilion. The final ensemble of installations – iterations of acoustemology – detours back to questions of memory and of memorial but from a different vantage point, questioning the architectonics of the present and the spectres of the past, with the idea of listening as activism in mind. I sense that one can know the world – that you can find a name, an identity and a sense of belonging – via the sonic.”
