At Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024, the esteemed German design brand ClassiCon is teaming up with the renowned architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron. Introducing the VOLKSHAUS collection, featuring three distinct pieces of high-end furniture. Each piece showcases a sophisticated structure and draws inspiration from the intricate designs found in Japanese architecture.

The standout piece of the VOLKSHAUS collection is undoubtedly the Lounge Chair: a luxurious seating unit crafted from sturdy oak, featuring a subtly elastic, cord-strung seat and backrest. Despite its rather bulky design, the chair boasts remarkable lightweight construction and an air of transparency. Complementing this centrepiece are the matching Stool and Side Table, meticulously crafted from the same premium materials.

The intricate, x-shaped design of the furniture series reflects the culmination of extensive research conducted by the architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron, delving into traditional wooden joints. This architectural marvel exudes a sculptural character, elevating each piece to a true work of art.

The complete VOLKSHAUS collection is available in natural oak or black stained oak, each featuring a satin lacquer finish. The natural oak rendition is accompanied by dark sage green cord, while the black stained version comes with black cord. Additional cushions can be added upon request.
